DEI – Avionics Communication & ASIC Solutions

DEI (Device Engineering Inc.) is a manufacturer focused on ARINC-429 and MIL-STD-1553 based avionics communication ICs and custom RF/mixed-signal ASIC designs. Its product portfolio includes ARINC-429 transceivers, line drivers/receivers, discrete-to-digital converters, MIL-STD-1553 transceiver family, and SiC based lightning/28 V bus protection modules. These solutions aim to make the design of mission computers, cockpit panels, and critical control units on aircraft more reliable, simpler, and highly protected.

All DEI products are designed, manufactured, and tested in ITAR-registered Arizona/Tempe facilities in accordance with AS9100D aviation and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

In addition to the standard product family, DEI offers redesign services for obsolete products and new ASIC development services. High-voltage, RF, and transient protection-focused designs are provided with analog/digital test development, characterization, and plastic or hermetic packaging options. The motto “Support for decades, not years” is a clear indication of their long-term program support.

Two important product groups that stand out on the engineering side are the MIL-STD-1553 Transceiver Family and the DEI1604 Surge Blocking SiC MCM. The 1553 family reduces space requirements on the board by offering two independent transceivers within a single ASIC; SiC-based Surge Blocking MCMs create a lightweight and efficient alternative against lightning-induced transients according to DO-160E Section 22 on platforms such as the Airbus A350.
