In 2021, Mercury strengthened its portfolio in RFSoC, data loggers, and SDR, particularly in radar and electronic warfare markets, by acquiring Pentek.

Talon® Real-Time Recording Systems

The Talon family consists of integrated recording systems designed for high-speed, real-time recording and playback.

  • It provides real-time data flow to disk arrays using multi-channel A/D, D/A converters, or digital I/O sources, storing data without loss.
  • Portable, rack-mount, and small form factor (SFF) structures offer ready configurations for different environments, from laboratories to the field, vehicle interiors, or cabins.
  • High-speed RF/IF modules combine GHz-level bandwidths with continuous recording speeds of several GB per second; multi-channel recording options up to 1/10/40 GbE are available for Ethernet streams.
  • The SystemFlow® software manages the configuration, recording/playback, status monitoring, and signal visualization functions of the recording system through a single GUI; in many cases, this reduces the need for an additional oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer.

This solution provides a recording infrastructure close to “ready-to-use” that can be quickly deployed in tasks such as radar signal capture, electronic warfare tests, telemetry, sonar, and high-speed data analysis.

Jade®, Quartz®, Onyx® & Cobalt® FPGA Cards

FPGA card families are multi-channel A/D–D/A converter and serial I/O solutions designed for use in high-speed data acquisition, DSP, and software-defined radio applications.

  • In 3U/6U VPX, cPCI, AMC, and PCIe form factors, they offer multiple synchronous channels, wideband A/D–D/A, JESD204B, serial fabric, and rich DSP resources on the FPGA side.
  • GateFlow®/Navigator® FPGA development kits provide a flexible environment for the user to add their own blocks to the FPGA with ready IP blocks and sample designs.
  • SPARK® development systems offer an “out-of-the-box” development environment with ready rack PC/VPX chassis housing these cards, operating systems, drivers, and sample software; significantly shortening system integration time.
